5 Beauty Products I Can't Go Without

As of late, I haven't been spending as much time on my makeup routine and really, I'm not complaining. With that said, I always, ALWAYS have to have these five items on hand to make me feel ready to face the world {or so I don't scare anyone when I leave the house}. You know what I mean, we all have our beauty products that we can't live without. I use these items daily and have compiled a list of the products I use that are on the more pricier end, and the items I love that are a true bargain but work just as well.

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm is one of my top picks for a BB Cream. I like that a little bit goes a long way and it lasts all day. The coverage is really important to me {since I don't use foundation} and this covers like a dream {goodbye dark spots!}. And the SPF 25 is a major plus since I live in a very sunny place. This BB cream can run pretty expensive, a small 1.5oz starts at $25 on Amazon. Where I love this product and how it makes my skin look and feel, that's a bit much for such a small amount.

My bargain BB Cream of choice is Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream. No joke, I've tried a few 'drug store' BB creams and this is by far my favorite. A little goes a long way, it has SPF 15, it smells nice, and at nearly $10 for a 2.5oz bottle, that's going to last me a while. It also is suppose to help lighten dark spots, which I'm hoping is true since I have a few.

Like I mentioned above, I don't wear foundation. I think I stopped wearing it just after high school...I hated the way it felt on my skin. So with a great BB cream comes an awesome concealer for those days when the circles around my eyes are dark and my skin is not up to par. I can't say enough good things about MAC Studio Finish Concealer with SPF 35, I mean a concealer with SPF! It covers better than pretty much all the concealers I've tried and there are so many shades to choose from, I know I'm getting one that works with my skin tone. Starting prices are around $20 and that lasts me about two months, which isn't horrible.

However, I love a good deal and for those months I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on myself makeup, I turn to CoverGirl's CG Smoothers Concealer. I've been using this stuff for probably 10 years now and it does the job just fine for me. It's not cakey or thick and covers all day. At just over $5 for one stick, this lasts about 2-3 months with everyday use.

Dry Shampoo is pretty much the best thing, ever! I've been known to not wash my hair everyday or after a workout {yes, I'm that person} and since the arrival of dry shampoo, my *hair life has been forever changed. But let's get one thing straight... not all dry shampoos are created equally. If you've tried a few, you know what I mean.

Klorane's Shampooing sec extra-doux is the best I've tried. At first I thought it was just another dry shampoo that turned my hair white or gray and that was it, but no, once I brush my hair, it is full of body and seriously looks like I've just had a blowout. And it smells amazing. It costs about $23 for 3.2oz on Amazon but there are deals where you can get 2 for $35.

I've also used Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion and must say that in the beginning, I didn't like it so much. It's gotten a lot better. They've changed something about it and now there's not as much white powder left on my roots and my hair has a ton of lift in it. At $10 for 5oz, that's a great deal for a good working product.

Who doesn't feel better once they've applied a little mascara? I know I do. And thanks to Sephora's whole line of mascaras, I know my eyes are going to to be looking good {well, better than without any makeup. Is it just me or do you feel a little naked without mascara?} My top choice is Sephora Full Action Extreme Effect. The brush is what does it for me. It's not too thick and it separates my lashes so that I don't look like I have a hairy spider on my eye {clumpy lashes are the worst!} There is never any flaking and it last all day. You can find this at any Sephora store for around $12, which isn't horrible but not great either. If you're wanting a great mascara that won't break your bank, go for the best there ever was, Maybelline's Great Lash. I'm pretty sure every woman has tried this at some point and loved it. The brush is great, it lasts without flaking, and it's under $5. The best part is that it's sold in pretty much every drug store around, so if you're running low, it's probably not to far out of reach.

Lips are like eyes, you can feel naked without any makeup on them. Whether it's a nude, a gloss or a bold statement choice, what we put on our lips can make or break a whole look. Right now I'm really into Stainiac the Balm. It basically tints the lip without any thickness or mess. It has a dry feeling, which is great if you're kissing a baby all day. I love that once it's on, it's on {like I said, it's tint}. It comes in three shades and runs about $15 for .3oz. That lasts me about a month and is a bit pricey just for lip tint.

For a more glossy look that feels refreshing and makes my lips look plump, I go for Bath & Body Works Mentha Lip Shine. It only costs $7.50 {half price} for a tube that is sure to last a month or two. It smells great, feels refreshing and is not too thick like a lot of glosses can feel. And with all the deals and buy one, get ones that B&BW has to offer, this is a great item to stock up on.

Do you use any of these items? Have you used some and hated them?! Let me know in the comments!! And as always, have a wonderful day xx

    1. The "BB" stands for blemish balm, blemish base and beauty balm. It's facial moisturizer that does more than just moisturize...it is suppose to correct dark spots, wrinkles, and sun damage, as well as help fight against acne and other skin problems. It is usually tinted so that it leaves a nice finish to your skin. In my case, I use it as a foundation. You can find it at any store where they sell beauty products. Since you've never tried it, look at Target and try a few out....most brands carry them now!! xx
