Living in southern California has its perks...like going to the beach in February when half the country is buried in snow {sorry guys}.
Growing up here, I never really knew any different...warm weather and beach trips at Christmas or in any of the Winter months was pretty standard stuff. Then I married a man from Austria and lived in Switzerland, where having a sunny, hot day even in the Spring or Summer was something to be celebrated.
Now that we're back living in SoCal {for a limited amount of time, maybe}
we are appreciating all the warm weather days and thankful to experience them.
Yes, there are more pictures of baby J than the other two kids because even though this wasn't his first time at the beach, it was the first time I just let him explore, eat sand and play in the water. Which for those who know me, was very difficult because I'm a bit of a clean freak.
Plus, this was an impromptu stop at the beach in Carlsbad after going to the Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland...that's why my kids are not wearing their suits and we had no towels.
But the happiness they expressed, the memories we made and the sunset alone
more than made up for it.

Happy Friday!!

DeleteWe went to the beach last week, but it was purely a sight-seeing, wander the boardwalk type of trip, not one for going in the water, because it's still rather chilly!

Thank you and yes, the beach is pretty special. You know, before I left CA I never really cared for the beach but after leaving the US and living in Switzerland, where the only beaches were those on the lakes, I grew to miss the CA, salty air of the ocean beach. Now I appreciate it more. Thank you for stopping by and have an awesome week!! xx
