I'm obsessed with anything French Toast
and will try to add cinnamon to as many breakfast dishes as possible.
So it was no surprise to my family when I came up with this recipe
which includes a combo of two of my favorite things: tortillas and french toast ingredients.
This yummy treat is perfect as an addition to any breakfast dish
or even alone as a snack throughout the day {what I like to do}.
Ingredients:
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- 6 Flour Tortillas *24 crisps
- 1 tbsp Butter {per batch}
Instructions:
- Mix egg, cinnamon and milk in a shallow bowl or dish
- Cut tortillas into fourths
- Soak tortilla slices in egg mixture so that both sides have a generous amount on them
- After melting butter in pan on medium heat, cook soaked tortilla slices in pan for 2 minutes on each side {they will turn slightly brown and puff }
- If you want them extra crispy, add more butter and cook for longer on each side
- Let rest for a minute or two and enjoy with jelly, syrup, or alone!

Wow. I would never have thought of that. What a great idea. My kids will love these. #ManicMondays

DeleteOoh, yum. Perhaps a good way to use up stale tortillas? (My daughters have a habit of sneaking tortillas and leaving the package unsealed so the top one gets hard and gross.)
