Oh, hey there 30!

So, as we all know I celebrated turning the big 3-0 with a family trip to Hawaii last week {it was little man's 1st birthday, too, so it was kind of a big deal}. Now that I'm back home and things are back to the normal daily grind, it has really hit me that I'm 30! Like, I remember thinking thirty was sooooo old and laughing when my mom would tell stories of the good-ol-days in her thirties. I haven't really thought being in your thirties was that old since my hubby turned thirty, eight and a half years ago {when I was 21 ha!} and he made being thirty look good; in fact, he looks better than he did in his twenties.

Anywho {I digress}, after dwelling and whining and feeling old, I realized that I'm so flipping glad to be done with my twenties and on to a new decade! I mean, my twenties were amazing and I did everything I was suppose to meant to do. I got a degree, fell in love, got married, had three children, lived abroad, bought a house, bought a car, traveled the world and survived. Maybe not in that order but none the less, I packed my twenties full of adventures, made memories and grew as a woman.

That's not to say there weren't some completely crap times during that chapter of my life. Of course, like any extended period of time, the decade brought heartache, loss and sadness. Those events also helped shape the person I am today. I might not be happy that those tough times happened, but I can appreciate the impact they had on my growth.

If I'm being honest, I'm super excited for what the next ten years have to offer. I'm looking forward to this next chapter in my life bringing even more joy and happiness, adventure, madness, and new beginnings for me to look back on and cherish. It might not always be rose colored and easy in my life but I can easily say that I'm happy to see what's to come. So, goodbye twenties, you were good to me! Thank you for all that you gave me and a time well spent. And HELLO 30... let's do this!!

Here are a few items from my 30's Bucket List:
  • Be a surrogate
  • Make an income from blogging
  • Be a published author
  • Continue traveling with my kids
  • Settle in Europe with my family
  • Start my own business
  • Raise my children to become amazing adults
  • Continue building a strong marriage
  • Continue working my butt of as a mom
Have a wonderful Friday and Happy Mother's Day!!

  10. Happy birthday! (: I haven't hit 30 yet and still in my mid 20s, but I have to be honest that I'm not looking forward to being 30 because the fear of being older. However, I realized that 30s can't be that bad. I mean, there are a lot of positive things about it too. I'm glad you view it that way now, and I'm sure I'll go through same process like you!

Again, happy birthday, and I love your goals! (:

  21. I turn 36 tomorrow, and I've been loving my 30s. I think it's in this decade that I've really become comfortable in my own skin. Like you, I did a lot of grownup things in my 20s - got my Masters, got married, had children, bought a house, established my career. But in my 30s I'm really LIVING! I read a study that said that women are at their peak of attractiveness at age 31, not in their teens or 20s as I would have thought.

Happy birthday and thanks for linkup up at #TwinklyTuesday.
