Sunday Antiquing in Maastricht, Netherlands

Right out front my apartment in the city center of Maastricht -a very significant and old European city- there are markets set up almost daily. From farmers markets, swap meets and artisan goods shops, to today's small antique market, I've been on a constant overload of local shopping here in the Summer heat. It has been fabulous and exactly what I've been missing in my life.

Heidi and I left the boys with my hubs and headed downstairs, ready to dig through each table set up on the cobblestone lanes. It was amazing to find items dated back to the 18th century, many pieces from all over Europe and some originally from right here in Maastricht. I won't lie, not all was wonderful and old... some items just seemed like old farm equipment (and not the cool kind). Overall however, the costume jewelry, intricate silver spoons and old books were my favorite finds. I'm looking forward to next Sunday's walk through and the large farmer's market coming soon! They have fresh everything!
