'You've Been BOOed' Ghost Jar

Boo! Ha it's that time again for booing neighbors and friends and seeing if they know it's from you. We always get a couple treats left on our door step each year and it makes my kids so happy. I love the looks on their faces when someone {suppose to be a surprise but we always figure it out ha} leaves us a Halloween treat to enjoy.

This year, I knew just who I wanted my kids to BOO and these kids love marshmallows... so I wanted to incorporate them into their gift. Since they are white, a ghost immediately popped in mind. And the local dollar store had jars for, well, a dollar, so that gave me more inspiration to be a little different then normal when creating my BOO gift. It's super simple and easy on the wallet, too. Plus, you can put your own spin on things and add any white treats you find to create the perfect ghost jar.

What you need:
  • 1 bag white chocolate chips
  • 1 bag large marshmallows
  • 1 extra white treat... I used eyeball gumballs because they were white & spooky
  • 1 medium to large jar
  • A card, either handmade, typed out or bought {I used the inside of the cards I had leftover from this craft}
  • Rope or ribbon
  • A black Sharpie
What you'll do:
  • Fill the jar in layers using marshmallows and chocolate chips, adding the third item in randomly. I put the marshmallows because they were sticky.
  • Put the lid on tightly.
  • Wrap the rope or ribbon around the top pf the jar until it looks the way you desire.
  • Poke a hole in the card and tie onto the jar.
  • Draw ghost eyes, a mouth and the word "boo" onto the jar.
  • Leave at your friend's house and hope they enjoy being BOOed as much as you enjoyed making it!

  1. Cute idea- I like how it's a little different than just a bunch of plastic toys in a "boo-bag" as we seem to get in my neighborhood- this is really cute...and affordable!

  2. This is very cute idea... we did it in our neighborhood a few years back but it kind of fizzled out lately! ;)

  3. We love to get booed! I need to do that this weekend!
