Can you believe it's already mid-November and the year is almost over?? The holidays sure snuck up on me and now I'm scrambling to get all my recipes ready for holiday parties, family get togethers and everyday dinner needs {thank you Pinterest menu board!} With that said, I've been getting more creative in my kitchen to meet the needs of all my guests. One food item that everyone seems to enjoy, especially my own kids, is cheese! With Kraft Natural Shredded Cheeses from Walmart, I was able to come up with a quick and easy recipe that is perfect for snacks or appetizers at any holiday get together.

My Avocado Cheese Chips are so simple to make. They are delicious alone, with toppings or added to other dishes {think soups and salads perhaps?}. As an appetizer, I added a giant dollop of avocado, a sweet cherry tomato and some Italian herbs to make a flavorful treat!

What You'll Need: Makes 20 Chips
  • 16-24 oz bag of Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese, Cheddar
  • 1 1/2 avocados
  • salt and pepper
  • 10 cherry tomatoes
  • Italian seasoning
What You'll Do:
  • Take a handful of your Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese and place it in a heated pan or skillet, on medium heat
  • Let cook until the cheese has melted and starting to form a solid layer with little bubbles
  • Using a spatula, gently flip over the cheese chip and let cook for an additional 30-60 seconds
  • Remove and place on a paper towel for a minute or two
  • Mash the avocado and season with a pinch of salt and pepper
  • Add a dollop of avocado to each cheese chip
  • Add a half cherry tomato to each chip and lightly sprinkle with Italian herbs
  • Arrange on a serving plate and let your guests enjoy

I found all the ingredients I needed for this recipe at Walmart. It was super easy to find in the section labeled 'Cheese' and there were many Kraft Natural Shredded Cheeses from which to choose.

What are some of your favorite cheesy appetizer or go to recipes you're using this holiday season? I know I will for sure be trying the Deep Dish Mini Pizzas!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Are these crisp or soft? I guess depending on how much you cook them or how much cheese you use? I love some burnt crisp cheese. But have never made it. Only had it hanging off something. Looks delicious!
