Total bucket list item going on in this post! How jealous am I that the Hubs got to go on this amazing adventure {WITHOUT me} a while back? Now, I'm usually a bit timid when it comes to doing anything that might cause bodily harm BUT look at how much fun white water rafting looks! What was suppose to be a week filled with work, work and more work, turned into a week full of work and major play {and a jealous wife! I kid... not really}.
The Hubs travels a lot for work and Costa Rica has become a common destination for him. While he enjoys his job and seeing the world, I know it can be quite hard for him to be far from us for long periods of time. I'm glad he gets opportunities to experience this beautiful world and be adventurous once in awhile... and Costa Rica doesn't disappoint.
The Hubs and his co-workers went white water rafting down the Pacuare River on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. This is a Class III-IV journey {I have no idea what that means but avid rafters probably do} and is a gorgeous one at that. Just the photos of the surrounding Costa Rican jungles makes me want to take a visit for myself. Enjoy these amazing stills from his adventure and marvel at the beauty {with a hint of craziness} with me.
And if you are interested in being adventurous in Costa Rica or white water rafting down the Pacuare River, check out Rios Tropicales.
Wow! This makes me want to go to Costa Rica right now! I've never been white water rafting but it looks like so much fun! I'm jealous of you husband! Thanks for sharing :-)
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! I went white water rafting once in New Zealand - but the waterfalls all around you in the pictures here look just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI totally kayaked down that river in 2009. Such an amazing river. High rapids too, quite challenging but a lot of fun. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
ReplyDeleteAshleigh these photos look gorgeous!! I'm sure that experience was amazing, Costa Rica is on our list too! I know how you feel, Kyle goes abroad a lot for his conferences including Milan, London, Athens, etc. And all he leaves behind is a jealous wife with a big jar of Nutella waiting for him to come back and give all the details!!

How fun!!! The last time I went white water rafting, we flipped over and got carried downstream. I wasn't a big fan of that, but I would definitely do it again!
ReplyDeleteLooks friggin' exhilarating and magical!

ReplyDeleteWow, rafting with Rios Tropicales looks amazing- I have some serious holiday envy x
ReplyDeleteI want to go to Costa Rica so badly--my sister is actually going there in a few weeks for her honeymoon and I'm SO jealous! :) I've been white water rafting a few times, but the last time that I went, I fell out of the boat and went over a class IV rapid on my rear, which was terrifying (people can get caught in the water currents and drown that way). Since then, I've decided to skip out on the white water rafting for other activities. My dad's also had some horrible experiences ww rafting--his boat flipped on a class V one time and he and a friend got stuck under neath the boat with only a tiny breathing pocket. He swore rafting off after he was rescued. :/ I guess there's just too much bad stuff that can (and does) happen with white water rafting.
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! Rafting and Costa Rica, that's basically two bucket list items in one!
