My kids went to the movies a good amount over the Summer, but of course their favorite movie ended up being Minions © 2015 Universal Studios. All rights reserved. So it was only natural that once the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack was released last week {December 8th}, I had a family movie night for my kids and some of their closest friends.
This hilarious family movie was the inspiration behind my Sweet Minion Pancake recipe... I mean, when we do movie night at our home, we like to have themed treats. And who doesn't enjoy a good breakfast for dinner dish, amiright?
What you'll need:
- Your favorite pancake mix/batter, prepared
- An egg shaped cookie cutter (a circle will work too)
- Blue icing pouch with thin tip
- Blue sprinkle
- Eyeball cake decor or white/black candies that you can make to look like eyeballs
What you'll do:
- Cook pancakes as usual and to your liking
- Once your pancakes have cooled, use the cookie cutter and cut out your minion bodies
- Heat your frosting in the microwave for 10 seconds or until soft enough to use easily
- Line your pancakes up and drizzle with blue frosting, making three lines across each pancake
- Sprinkle pancakes with blue sprinkles
- Add eyes for decor
- Let the kids enjoy their sweet minions!

Once your Sweet Minion Pancakes are ready and the kids are all cozy on the couch, it's time to start your very own Minions movie night! Don't forget to pick up your own copy of Illumination Entertainment's Minions at your local retailer... you can find a store near you by checking out the Minions movie website! And if you want more great recipes and lots of other neat ideas for hosting your own Minions movie night, look here for tons of inspiration!
Are you following Minions on Twitter yet?? It's pretty cool and something to show the kids!
Have you seen the movie or tried any other Minions inspired recipes? I'd love to know!!
Happy Movie night!
Looks like a perfect evening for the family!
