Meet the Blogger behind the Blog: Blogdacious

It's been just over a year since I started this little blog and I've loved so much about what goes into blogging. One of the major aspects of keeping a blog going {and probably the funnest, too} are the relationships and communication between bloggers. The blogging community is so vast and growing everyday, it's hard not to make a connection here or there. Networking within these communities is a key to having a successful blog, as the best place to learn about the art of running a blog is through other bloggers themselves.

With that said, I've met and made connections with some amazingly talented bloggers out in the blogosphere, from all walks of life {another bonus: meeting people you otherwise wouldn't have been able to meet if it wasn't for blogging!}. One blogging lady that I'd love for you to get to know is my friend and Thursday Newbie News linky co-host Chantal, who runs a wonderful blog called... Blogdacious!!

She's already taught me so much about blogging and is a great resource. Check out what she has to say...

Hi! My name is Chantal and I’m the author of Blogdacious! (http://www.blogdacious.com/ )
I write about motherhood, frugal living, homemaking, and of course, blogging! My goal is to show women that they can be successful financially and focus on their families at the same time.  We shouldn’t have to pick between the two!

 2.     What were you before you could call yourself a blogger?

Before I started blogging, I was a wife and stay-at-home-mom.  I suffered from depression and felt torn between supporting my family financially and being there for my daughter. Now that I’m blogging, I feel like I have direction and don’t feel like I have to choose between my family and a career.

3.     Aside from blogging, what are your hobbies and interests?

I love reading, gardening, everything outdoors, homemaking, and traveling.  Lately I am especially interested in the idea of homesteading, so I have embarked on a journey of self-sufficiency.

4.     What got you into blogging and how long have you been doing it?

I have always enjoyed writing, and dreamt of making a living doing it.  I started blogging about a year ago, but got overwhelmed and gave up.  About six months ago, I was inspired by big-time blogger Sarah Titus.  I gave it another go and haven’t quit since!

5.     What blogging projects are you working on right now?

I’ve got a LONG list of projects but right now I’m working on two new e-books! This is the first time I’ve done this but I’m so excited to release the first book, “The SAHM Side-Hustle Handbook,” sometime in February, and the second book, “Writing for Bloggers: Making Your Content Come First,” around April 1st.  Stay tuned because you wont want to miss these resources!

6.     What is your favorite thing about blogging?

Writing is my hobby and passion, and blogging allows me to do that anytime, anywhere!  I love connecting with other bloggers and challenging myself to improve my blog.

7.     Three interesting facts about you.

·      I have traveled all over South & Central America several times over.
·      I became a step-mom at the age of 21.
·      I studied Elementary Education in college.

8.     What are your long-term blogging goals?

I want Blogdacious to become a well-known resource for moms. I’d love to prove to other moms that blogging can be a way of supporting your family financially. I would also like to blog myself entirely out of student-loan debt.

9.    I’d love for you to stop by Blogdacious and see what I’m up to!  I just published my first EVER online income report in hopes of inspiring and encouraging other new bloggers.  You can find it at http://www.blogdacious.com/december-2015-online-income-report/ or visit me on Facebook!

Doesn't Chantal sound great?! Please go stop by her blog and say Hi, and make a new bloggy friend!

Have a wonderful Tuesday and if you'd love to connect with me, just leave a comment below or email me at poppysays15@gmail.com! Also, you can always reach out to me on my social media accounts!

  1. It was great getting to know Chantal!
These are such fun reads :)

    xoxo, Jenny

  2. It is always nice to read about the bloggers behind the blog! That's why the about page is always one of the page I visit first when I come accross a blog I like. Chantal seems to be a really nice and her blog sounds interesting. Will visit it in a while.

  3. I love what she said about not having to choose between a career and family--now that I'm in the swing of things, I feel the exact same way about blogging! :D Loved reading this!

  4. I have a blog. It's funny. Check it out.
