Weekend Staycation in San Diego

I know we've only been back from Hawaii for a couple of days now, but with my hubs leaving back to Europe this week and then straight to Chicago, the kids and I aren't going to see him for a month. Having him here the last couple of weeks was really great for everyone, as taking the time to spend as a family has been super important during this last year while he's been gone so much. We decided to take one last weekend getaway together down to San Diego, to enjoy the sun, pool, beach and local flower fields.

As soon as we arrived at our hotel, the kids jumped in the pool! You'd think they would have been over the sun and water, however, their appetite for early Summer fun has only grown stronger. The weather was amazing, in the 80s all weekend, with not a cloud in the sky. We stayed at the Radisson in Rancho Bernardo, which offered us a perfect escape from the heat up where we live {about 45 minutes away}.

Staying at the Radisson was a great choice for our family. It had been years since I'd stayed in one, and let me just say, I was very pleasantly surprised. The furnishings were so modern and the rooms were clean to my standards. Everything you'd come to expect from a hotel was provided {gotta have tea and coffee in my room, always ha}. To my liking, there was free high-speed Internet and free on-demand tv, which with 3 kids and two adults, was really nice! I had stayed in another hotel chain in Los Angeles before flying to Hawaii last week and everything was extra. I was glad that everything I needed for my family was included in our stay. There was also a fitness center for the hubs and an on site restaurant.

I took of the on demand and had the kids watch on their tablets ha!

Over all, our time together has to come to an end for a while. With the hubs starting his new position in Chicago directly after the one in the Netherlands finishes this month, and the kids and I not moving to Chicago until mid to late June, getting this last opportunity to spend some family time together was wonderful. Have you ever stayed in a Radisson? What did you think of it?

  5. I loved the Radisson. My husband took me to the Radisson Blu Aqua in Chicago to propose. It was fantastic. Only thing that I didn't like was the long pool for working out instead of leisure. But, it was great other than that. Best time that I've spent at any Radisson.

That look like the kids had a blast as well as you guys! I hope that time passes fast so it's faster to get to see the husband.

    Have a fantastic week!

  6. Good to know as we don't normally stay at Radisson's just not on our radar. I could see how the free on demand tv could be a big hit and can't beat San Diego or quality family time. Looks like an awesome staycation. I'm based in Temevula so not too far from there either. Are you going to Mom 2.0 by chance? It's in Laguna so I thought maybe... Love your blog.
