Who doesn't love a beautiful wedding in the snow?! If there was one thing I loved most as a young girl, it was planning my wedding, looking through bridal magazines, and wearing a veil around the house. So it's no surprise now that I enjoy all things wedding. When I first heard that my good friend, Jen, and her husband had a winter wedding in Colorado, I couldn't wait to feast my eyes on their photos. (When you grow up in California, you attend many beach, vineyard, and church ceremonies, but not so many snowy ones!).
Jen's a new friend here in Chicago that I've gotten close to and one of the nicest people you could meet. Her husband and she are the cutest couple and still give off that newlywed vibe, even after three years of marriage and two babies. She has been nice enough to let me share the photos and details to her Christmas-time, Winter wedding, and I'm so excited because truly, she was such a beautiful bride.
Jesse and Jen got married on December 13, 2013, at Willow Ridge Manor in Morrison, Colorado. As you can see, it was a gorgeous Winter's day, a cool 45 degrees outside with snow on the ground. Despite the colder temps, the wedding ceremony was held outside. There were blankets provided for the guests on each chair. Jen is a huge Christmas enthusiast and having her wedding around the holidays, with the cooler elements, was an important aspect she anticipated for her special day.
Jen's dress... let me just say, I love this dress! It's actually not much different to the one I wore myself, only, her's is way better lol. No, but I love that Jen's has so much detailing and ruffling at the base and on the train that gives the look of snow. This is what she was going for. She absolutely picked the most perfect dress for the season.
The bouquets had snowflake brooches in them, probably my favorite detail from the whole wedding.
Jen walked down the aisle to the Transiberian Orchestra's, "Christmas Canon."
The reception was held indoors and the Willow Ridge Manor. Seeing that there were hints of Christmas throughout the wedding, dinner music was loungey Christmas music and songs by Richard Cheese, who plays covers of popular songs but in a loungey style! Sounds pretty awesome if you ask me and apparently everyone loved it! And if you haven't already figured it out, this couple is super fun and knows how to have a good time. So since their wedding was on a Friday, they decided to keep the festivities going and hosted an Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl the next day! I might have to get the pics from that share it, as well.
This picture really shows you just how detailed her dress was and just how beautiful the bottom of the skirt really is. I take back what I said before, my dress was nothing like this dress and Jen's is waaaayyyy better than mine was.
|Um, seriously though, how cute is this picture?!|
I hope you love these wedding photos as much as I do and maybe get a little inspiration from them, too. The whole thing makes me want to have another wedding of my own just so I can plan it. A big thanks to Jen for letting me share her special day!
